Fredriksborg is the historical place and the personal hotel with the great opportunities.

At Fredriksborg you can eat well, sleep well and just have a good time.

Fredriksborg is a unique hotel with 15 rooms in two 18th century buildings that were completely renovated in 2013-2015. The location is idyllic and the rooms have a view of the sea, garden or both.

All rooms are different but have fully tiled modern bathrooms, TV with 16 channels and WiFi. Soap, shampoo, lotion are handmade organic from Countess's Room. Without chemicals, it lathers less, that's how it should be. All bed linen and towels are washed with organic detergents. Hair dryer is available, as well as a fan. Minibar or coffee machine is not available in the rooms. Brought food and drink are not allowed, and all rooms are pet-free with regard to allergy sufferers. Both buildings were given modern ventilation and heating systems during the renovation. Fredriksborg Hotel is, together with the fortress, classified as a national listed building.

The yellow Stone Barracks has two stairwells to the eight rooms on the middle floor and above that two attic rooms in each gable. On the lower floor there is a kitchen, reception, toilet, lounge area and two dining rooms. All hotel rooms in the building have a bathroom with shower. There is no elevator but feel free to ask staff for help with heavy bags. The building was designed by Carl Hårleman and became a new building for the crew in the 1750s. It was restored reverently and opened as a hotel in 2013.

The red officers' residence has a large terrace facing the water that goes around the entire building. Each room has sun loungers and café furniture and a fully glazed entrance door on the ground floor. The building, which dates back to the 1720s, has five rooms and was restored and opened as a hotel in 2015. Some rooms have a shower and others have a bathtub in the bathrooms. Tile stoves are available in some rooms. The rooms are cozy with older charm being slightly lower than standard.

A history guided tour of Fredriksborg Fortress is given at 5 pm in Swedish and at 6 pm in English every day, free of charge for hotel guests and takes about 1 hour. We tell the history of Fredriksborg, Vaxholmslinjen and Sweden and you see the fortress and end in the observation tower on the roof, which 60 meters above sea level is probably the highest building point in the archipelago.
