Here we collect exciting events that take place at Fredriksborg during the 2026 season.
Barbecue evenings with live bands
Every Thursday 2 July – 13 August, the chef moves out on the terrace and grills – meat, sausage and chicken, supplemented with salad, side dishes etc. 3-6 man bands on the outdoor terrace, playing jazz, blues, rock etc. as below. On these Thursdays, the barbecue menu replaces the regular evening menu.
Barbecue menu incl dessert and coffee 475 SEK (50% for children up to 12) v.v book a table. A fortress guided tour at 5-6 pm is included if you wish. Start at 18:15, with music until about 20:00 with a short break, with the grill lit for a while longer. A warm welcome.

2 July - Lost and found
Lars Benckert (banjo, guitar, vocals), Vicki Benckert (bass, vocals) and Magnus Ählström (guitar, dobro, vocals) play bluegrass-scented versions of songs you forgot you remember.
July 9 - Conversation Jazz
Swinging jazz from the 30s – 60s and beautiful melodies from the American Songbook mixed with Swedish and Latin rhythms. Lisa Fridén vocals, Peter Blomqvist alto sax/flute, Claes Brodda tenor sax/clarinet, Hans Camitz piano, Fredrik Hellberg drums, Lars Pettersson double bass.
July 16 - Old Boy Stompers
is a traditional jazz band, which has played together for almost 10 years and is called Old Boy Stompers. They play cheerfully entertaining trad jazz and consist of well-known musicians in the genre, such as Hans Brandgård on trombone, Karin Wallin on Cornet, Clazze Sterner on soprano saxophone, Hans Hultman-Boye piano, Tomas Ekström on bass and Boa Carlman on banjo.
July 23 - Hasse Sporres Swing Quartet
lives up to the name as they with their Benny Goodman-inspired music offer a light-hearted swing in the true sense of the word. A lovely evening where the quartet offers an easy-going swing in the true sense of the word. Hasse Sporre (clarinet), Pelle Larsson (piano), Magnus Marcks (bass) and Ferdinand Carlsson (drums).
July 30 - The Wolf Meeting
Five experienced blues musicians met, a liking arose and they formed a band. The Wolf Meeting, as the band calls itself, mixes fresh from a smorgasbord with genuine blues and with the demand that it has to swing. And it does!
August 6 - Another Five
invites you to a wonderful mess with soul and heart. Own and others' songs ranging from Monica Z to Tom Waits and newer sounds. Music for the sad and happy performed with joy of playing, tenderness, a touch of thought and a glimpse of jazz. Ann Lidbrink – vocals, Anders Ekman – guitar and vocals, Björn Famne – keyboards and vocals, Hasse Stenfelt – double bass, electric bass and vocals, Pelle Holm – drums and vocals.
August 13 - Blues weather
offers nice old rock classics and blues! A lot of 50s and 60s. Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, B B King, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and a Nobel Prize winner in literature: Bob Dylan! Various merrymaking. Hold on to your hats! Lasse Söderström, guitar and vocals, Danne Lindström, guitar and vocals, Lasse Tidholm, fender bass, Fredrik Hellberg, drums.
August 14 - Lost & Found
On Friday 14 August, Lost & Found plays. Note regular à la carte service on Friday.

September 27 - Fortress guided tour (by Vaxholm Fortress Museum)

Fredriksborg Fortress was this year's theme in the Friends of Vaxholm Fortress Museum's yearbook. A detailed description made with the help of the museum's archives supplemented with old and newly taken photographs (It is available for purchase from us or at the Fortress Museum at the Citadel, along with all previous years' themes and fortresses) For this reason, a special guided tour of Fredriksborg Fortress is also given by the Fortress Museum's guides.
