Open any day for prebooked private- or corporate events, conferences etc.

For private guests we are open daily during June-August, and only on weekends and holidays during the period November-February. During the Christmas period (November 25-December 20), we are only open for private guests in conjunction with holiday dinners and hotel bookings every Thursday through Sunday.

Exclusivity – Rent the entirety of Fredriksborg, any of our individual buildings, the fortress or any other area with exclusivity. For weeding the whole area is unavailable for rentals.

Guided tours of the fortress are available during the period May-September every open day at 5PM. Complimentary for all guests.

Please not that Fredriksborg (the whole area unless otherwise stated) is rented the following dates in 2023;

Travelling by car from Stockholm takes approx. 30 minutes. Address for Google Maps-directions is Fredriksborgsvägen 19, Värmdö.

Car via Nacka – Drive Värmdöleden, Väg 222, towards Värmdö and follow the road to Hemmesta into Väg 274 and on towards Stenslätten/Oxdjupet. Turn right at the white sign “Fredriksborgs Fästning” about 500m before the end of the road and the ferry stop. Follow the sign towards Fredriksborg.

Car via Vaxholm – Drive towards Vaxholm, take the road ferry to Rindö, Väg 274. Pass Rindö over to the next road ferry over to Värmdö. On the Värmdö side, drive 500m on Väg 274 to the sign “Fredriksborgs Fästning” and turn left. Follow the sign towards Fredriksborg (Both road ferries are free and synchronized and run approx. every 20 minutes. See app “Time table” from Maritid.).

Bus from Slussen – Take bus 439 from Slussen to the Björnhamra stop, walk 20 meters back to Fredriksborgsvägen and then walk approx. 10 minutes. Follow the sign “Fredriksborgs Fästning”. Please note that bus 439 does not run very often, see timetable above. In case of emergency, let us know if (depending on the time) we can pick you up at Siggesta Gård, bus 437, or the exit towards Boda Brygga/Kallsvik bus 438.).

Bus from Vaxholm/Rindö – Take bus 688 from Vaxholm to Oscar-Fredriksborg on Rindö, then take the free road ferry which takes three minutes to the Värmdö side. On arrival, take the small dirt road up to the left, and then walk for approx. 10 minutes. Follow the sign “Fredriksborg’s Fortress”.

Shuttle boat (SL) line 83/83x runs from Strömkajen to Rindö Hamn. From there you walk along the water to the foreshore, then take the free road ferry over to Stenslätten and finally have about 800 meters of walking left to Fredriksborg.

Please contact us if you have difficulty walking, carry heavy luggage or it is too dark, and we can pick you up at Stenslätten. The last bit to us is a gravel road without street lights.

Own boat – We have a large bridge deck where both tour as well as taxi boats can dock and drop off guests. There is also a smaller guest jetty with seven berths for leisure boats that can be used on a first-come, first-served basis. As they are few, they cannot be reserved. Boat booms/Y-booms are available in the widths 2.9m (5 pcs), 3.4m and 3.9m. Feel free to call us if you have any questions.

The taxi boat usually departs from Vaxholm and the trip to Fredriksborg pier takes 20 minutes. With the service Resarö Sjötaxi the taxi boat-fee is 600 SEK for up to eight people. In addition to pure transport, Resarö Sjötaxi can also offer tips as well as guide you in the surrounding area according to your wishes.

Travelling to Vaxholm from Strömkajen in Stockholm takes approx. 1h 15min with Waxholmsbolaget‘s own boats.

Travelling to Vaxholm from Strandvägen (berth 14) takes approx. 50 minutes with the cruise ferry Cinderella .
